My Easter adventure in Cape Cod ~ M

I find as I grow older, that these holidays like Easter and Christmas are very much misunderstood by most children. Now I don't mean in the religious sense, because I will admit that I am no expert of religion, but instead in a moral sense. When I was younger I thought of Easter as that time in the spring that a little bunny hops over to my house and sends me some candies and small gifts. When I was very young a portion of my family would spend the Easter holiday at my house where we would enjoy brunch and have an easter egg hunt, as my sisters and I grew older this holiday became an event celebrated only with the people that actually live in my house. this year though, my family and I got into the car and took the hour long journey to Cape Cod to spend the day with some members of my dads side of the family. Sadly H wasn't there to join us, but I hear she quite enjoyed her day aswell.
While in Cape Cod we had a massive Easter dinner with a few of my uncles hosted by my lovely aunt Mary, who you may remember hearing about from my consignment shop haul. After we cleared our plates my sisters, mom and Mary went down to the beach. Now if you live near Cape Cod, you may realize how foolish this was of us, because it wasn't exactly warm there on this particular Easter Sunday. What makes this even worse of an idea was not only the fact that I had a chest infection at the time, which made it very difficult to breathe in the windy air, but also my lack of cold weather appropriate clothing.
Can you imagine how cold i was?

Now I didn't wear these on the beach,
but I did spend the rest of the day in them, aren't the just adorable?

My favorite summer time sandals.
My sister Sophie and I decided that I wouldn't be able to walk the entire length of the beach like everyone else wanted to do, so we instead sat all huddled together on an abandoned beach with our phones. I'm pretty sure to anyone walking by we looked like one of two things; homeless, or just plain idiots. But we enjoyed ourselves, thanks to the endless apps on our phones, for a little while.

After what seemed like much too long waiting for our family to return we saw a few specks moving toward us in the distance.

These specks soon came closer and, despite Sophie's insisting that it wasn't them, our family had in fact returned to us, so we ran over to the warm car and headed home. Life lesson #12828 always wear warm clothes to the beach when it isn't actually swimming season.
They were cold too, but that didn't make them come back quicker.
I think they were torturing us on purpose.
